The halo above his head reads: ”A woman doesn’t dress up sexy for no reason”.
It is quite disturbing to see the representation of the halo of how he thinks and sees himself as justified because of the “everyone knows” type of mentality. Assault is never justified but… we still see this everywhere and are still fed with the idea that out explicit verbal NON-consent does not matter if we are dressed in a particular way.
I am always baffled by the idea that women live in this perpetuated state of consent and the only way to revoke is to cover from head to toe, to stay only at home and to never, ever communicate with any men (though rape and assault still happens to women who live according to these “prescriptions”). Not only that our clothing (whatever it is) is accepted of further revoking our option to withdraw consent, but our body types or sexuality, age and race are seen as consenting to whatever.
Assault is never justified, but I’d like to see a but more campaigns in which we see shaming on people who assault, not such smug and self-indulging men. Because again, she is shown as broken and hurt and he looks happy with himself.
Yes yes yes yes ALL THE BOLD
