Loveliest face.
Update on shampoo alternatives: I tried the J.R. Ligett’s Natural Bar Shampoo (tea tree and hemp oil version) and ended up really liking it. It doesn’t lather much in the hand but once it hits your scalp it lathers really well, which gives it that satisfactory experience without the harsh detergents. I followed it up with the acv rinse and then used a turban towel until my hair was 60% dry, which gave me… a pretty good approximation of my best natural texture without any product — it’s actually curlier/wavier than it looks in this picture, because of the crappy lighting and my desire to avoid myspace angles.) I definitely liked it and will be curious to see how the peppermint and jojoba version feels. I would recommend this to people looking to cut-out commercial shampoo but don’t like/aren’t ready for the full baking soda experience.
Another thing I wanted to recommend was a new dry shampoo I tried, which is the first one I’ve ever used and liked. I got the Ojon Full Detox stuff which worked REALLY well and gave my hair a ton of volume immediately, and was still working the next day without need for reapplication. The only thing I would say is that you have to be careful to use only a very tiny bit and distribute well (which is good because it’s pretty expensive), because too much and your hair feels awwwwwful (but looks great, so at least it has that going for it.)
